Today, with kids back at school I start “proper” working again, on a large dining table again, and dreaming of the perfect desk again. Today my day dream will cost more than I’ll probably earn this month, the Matthew Hilton Orson desk in American Walnut, with a dovetail jointed drawer (which slides like a dream), slot for cables and cast iron pairs of legs.
In the photos I took of it at an exhibition stand for Delaespada, it’s manufacturer, it’s against a wall. Yet I think I’d prefer it standing freely. It’s small size means its not too incumbent and it could be used from either side, also somehow it needs to breath and I feel it could be a little claustrophobic with its lively wood grain butted closed in against a wall.
